How do I connect to an ECM server?

After adding the Linked Library widget to your community, you must create a connection to an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) server.

To create a connection between your linked library and an ECM server, complete the following steps.

1. From the Linked Library widget, click Connect to Get Started. Alternatively, click the Actions icon for the widget and select Edit.
2. In the Server field, enter the URL address of the ECM server. For example http://my.ecm.server:80.
3. Log in to the ECM server.
   • If your deployment of IBM Connections uses single sign-on, complete one of the following actions:
     Note: Your administrator can set a parameter called useSSO in the library configuration file to true or false. The value of the parameter determines the option that is displayed to you in the user interface.
     • When useSSO is set to false: Leave the Log in with my current credentials check box selected and click Log In to log in with your IBM Connections user name and password. If the environment does not use single sign-on, you are prompted for the name and password of a user with access to the ECM server.
     • When useSSO is set to true: Click Open.
   • If your deployment does not use single sign-on, clear the Log in with my current credentials check box. Enter the user name and password of a user with access to the ECM server, and then click Log In.
4. Select a library from the list. You can change this selection later.
5. Optional: Click the Customize tab to customize the following settings for the linked library:
   • Change the name of the Linked Library widget that displays in your community by entering a name in the Name field.
   • Select a column and sort order to apply. Columns and sort order options are specified on the ECM server. Your selection determines how the folders and files are sorted in the linked library.
6. Click Save and Close to save your changes and return to the community.
