After adding an Ideation Blog to a community, you can edit
basic information about the Ideation Blog, change the access level
of community members, and specify whether comments to the Ideation
Blog are moderated. In addition, you can control Ideation Blog membership,
hide the Ideation Blog, or remove it from the community.
Before you begin
You must be a community owner to perform management tasks
for an Ideation Blog.
You must also be logged
in to IBM® Connections.
About this task
If your community has an Ideation Blog,
you can manage it from the community in a number of ways. For example,
you can hide or remove the Ideation Blog, or update the membership
of the Ideation Blog. You can also take steps to control idea creation
and voting. For more information, see Managing an Ideation Blog.
Procedure
- To edit basic information about the Ideation Blog, such
as its name, description, tags, or time zone, select on the Overview page and click
the Ideation Blog tab. Alternatively, select Edit from
the widget action menu.
- To change the access level of community members to the
Ideation blog, select on the Overview page
and choose one of the following access options:
- Author. Allows members to post ideas to
the Ideation Blog.
- Draft. Allows members to save draft ideas
only.
- Viewer. Allows members to view ideas but
not to contribute to the Ideation Blog.
When you first create an Ideation Blog, all members of the community
are granted author access by default.
- To specify whether comments added to the Ideation Blog
are moderated, select on the Overview page,
and then select an option from the Comments list.
Moderated comments are saved into a draft state until a community
owner approves them for posting to the Ideation Blog.
- To add or remove an Ideation Blog member, you need to add
or remove that person from the community membership. You
can do this on the community's Members page.

- You can perform the following Ideation Blog management
tasks from the community Overview page by clicking
the Actions icon
in the Ideation Blog widget title
bar and selecting from the menu that displays:- To move the Ideation Blog widget up or down the Overview page,
choose Move Up or Move Down as
appropriate.
- To hide the Ideation Blog, choose Hide and
confirm that you want to temporarily remove the Ideation Blog from
the community.
When you are ready to resume Ideation Blog activity,
select and select Ideation Blog from
the Hidden section of the widget palette. All
the Ideation Blog content is restored to the community.
- To remove the Ideation Blog and all its content, choose Remove and
complete the form that displays to confirm that you want to remove
the Ideation Blog permanently.
Important: When you perform
this action, the Ideation Blog content is permanently removed and
it cannot be retrieved later.
